8:36 pm - Drabbles -> Fatherhood follies staring Adam Weasley

Also staring Chris Weasley, Emma Grace Weasley, and Remus Evan Weasley. Guest staring Fabian Arthur Potter, Harry Alastor Lupin, Alice and Frank Longbottom, Rebecca Longbottom, Casper Penn, and unnamed members of the Crouch family.
1) The first night
Emma Grace Weasley lay sound asleep in a second floor room of St. Mungo's. On her bosom was a perfectly content newborn baby boy. His tiny pink shriveled face and cotton ball sized puff of red hair were all that could be seen under the emerald green blanket that swaddled him. Adam watched as his new son and perfect wife breathed at almost a perfect marriage. Adam scooped his half slumbering older son Chris, adopted at age 9 but no less perfect than the brand new baby, from a recliner against the wall and tucked him in with his mom and new brother. He kissed all three of his family members goodnight and felt his heart swell. Complete and utter joy.
2) The first week
A grin played on Adam's lips as he cradled baby Remus in his arms. As instructed, he was careful to support the newborn's precious head. The baby hardly made a sound, he seemed perfectly content until suddenly, his cheeks went red and his features scrunched towards his forehead. Adam panicked; what was wrong? Was he hot? Was he tired? Was it something much worse signifying Adam's total incompetence as a father? In alarm Adam ran to his wife as quickly as he could, crying that something was wrong with the baby. Worried, Emma sped to her soon and took him in her arms. A small grin crossed her lips as she kissed Remus's red forehead and looked at her poor befuddled husband. "Well this is worse than I thought," she said to Adam, "your son is trying to poop."
3) Home sweet home
Adam and his son Remus have at least one thing in common; they both hate being away from Emma Grace. Logically, Remus's cradle was put to the left of the bed, between Adam's side of the bed and the bathroom door, rather than to the right of the bed, between Emma's side and a window she preferred to keep open. The baby wouldn't have it. Initially in fact, he wouldn't settle down without his mother's comforting strokes of his cheeks. Eventually, he grew quiet and shut his eyes as long as Emma stood near him and hummed softly. Would he sleep in the cradle? Adam and Emma prayed he would, that he would just sleep for a little while. They laid him down and kissed him goodnight and miracles of miracles baby Remus fell asleep. All too soon, he hollered, announcing that he and his diaper needed attention! Wanting to let his wife sleep as much as she was able, Adam hurriedly whisked his son to the bathroom and changed him. Even when Remus was clean, Adam couldn't appease his sour cries. Adam begged him to give his poor lungs a rest but the baby just wouldn't stop give up! Half asleep, Emma trudged into the small room and wordless took her son into her arms. He stopped crying immediately. The cradle was moved and the window was no longer kept open.

So, I know I've been quiet lately, but Adam isn't involved in any of the current community story lines and the person who wanted me to become active with Al the most never tagged him so I don't feel too bad. I'll be back and more active in about a month, my friend and I are going on a cross country road trip!
I'll make a deal with you! Leave me a comment with ANYTHING and I'll write it when I get back. It can involve Adam or any of my pups or be something like "Write a few paragraphs about what comes to mind when you hear the word salamander" or it can be complete crack or serious.
